My Philosophy on College Applications

Walking on Campus

Individualized Strategies

I help families navigate the college admissions process, formulating individualized strategies for success. I’m here to ensure that you make informed, thoughtful decisions about important choices relating to the process, such as:

  • submitting test scores or going 'test optional'

  • maximizing demonstrated interest

  • strategizing application options - ED/EA/ED2/RD

I recognize and appreciate that this process is extremely personal – every student views “success” differently, and a multitude of factors and environments will define each student's success in college.

My meticulous and comprehensive collaboration is designed with YOU and your individual personal goals and ambitions in mind.

The Ever-Changing
Admissions Landscape

The college admissions process has changed dramatically in the last few years - changes in standardized testing requirements, COVID-driven transcript omissions, an increase in 'gap years,' modified campus visits and interview formats, and an influx of applications that many schools received (due, in large part, to the test-optional policies). These ongoing changes have made the college admissions process even more perplexing than in the pre-COVID era.

Components of a student's application like teacher recommendations and essays, while always important, have now become front and center. There is also a growing trend to include supplemental materials, such as personal websites, informal (art/music/writing) portfolios, and video introductions.

With the fluid nature of the college admissions, it's imperative to plan ahead and make strategic decisions to best 'package' yourself and your own unique story. I can help!
